Cathedral Tattoos did a Friday the 13th promotion for Cause for Paws, so all proceeds from the tattoos went to help homeless doggies and kitties. So I got cheap ink PLUS helped the animals :) I guess they did about 160 tattoos on Friday. I'd believe it because my friend and I were there for for about 7 hours waiting (she was there even longer)
This particular design, and all designs they did that day are called "Flash" tattoos. It dates back to sailors getting into ports and getting a quick tattoo done. So for the Friday the 13th event, they had all pre-chosen "Flash" (very old school) and you could choose from that selection. No customs or alternations to the design. I like this little bird though.. plus it's my first tattoo with actual color! :)
I LOVE this! And I'm totally jealous! I've been aching for new ink for years now but I never have the extra money. What a great fundraiser! Your tat reminds me of Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope is the thing with feathers". Quite fitting!
