This is what I have heard almost daily for the last six years and this is why I left my husband today.
I've driven across two states so far and I have two more to go until I get to my sister's where I will attempt to put my life back together.

Hang in there. Be prepared for good days and bad days. Days where you feel relieved to be free, days where you wonder why you left (sounds crazy, but it happens because it's difficult not to be affected by 6 years of negative words.....you will question whether you are idiot, fat, ugly, stupid. Remember.....YOU ARE NOT THESE THINGS!), days where you feel ready to take on the world, and days where you want to pull the covers over your head and forget to participate in life for the day.

Omg, he said all those things to you?! That's horrible. You really do never know what goes on behind closed doors. There have been so many marriages I really admired just to find out later they really weren't at all what they appeared to be.
